He traces how the First Christian Renaissance ended Roman tyranny, how the Second Renaissance gave birth to the nation-state and the idea of consent of the governed, and how America emerged as a distinct breakaway civilization grounded in moral law and individual sovereignty.
Placing today’s turbulence in this broader context, he contends that the current moment may represent not the end of Western Civilization, but the early stages of a Third Renaissance — a renewal of national identity, productive capacity, and civic purpose.
